Splitting Payments

Lightspeed allows you to split payments for an order by item, percentage or payment amount/type.  This document outlines splitting by percentage or payment amount.

Splitting an Order by Percentage/Separate Amounts

1. Access POS – and enter you user pin code
2. If the order has been sent and is still open - Click the Orders icon or if it is an open table click the table plan and select the right table.
        
3. Click Check Out.
    
4. Under the cash payment options you will see Split Payment. Click this
    
5. To split the payment evenly - Click Split Payment for the number of payments you will take for this order. The order will split evenly (with possibly rounding on the last amount) for each payment.
    

1. To pay by two different payment types and unique amounts click Check out -> Split Payment.  Tap on the sale amount and override the total with the amount to pay. Click OK.
    
    
   
    
2. Click Checkout against each amount to process the payment as normal.  This is particularly useful when a customer is paying for part of their order with a voucher.
