Resetting Lightspeed on your Tablet and Clearing Cache

Lightspeed has a built-in app cleaning utility that helps to flush out old cached data which may be causing it. It is a great place to start when troubleshooting.

As long as your register is online, there is no data loss in this process.

Note - DO NOT perform a repair if you are experiencing connectivity issues.

 

iOS Devices

  1. Completely exit the Lightspeed App – double click the home button and swipe up on the Lightspeed app to close it, or swipe up and hold the app then swipe up to close the app on the latest iPad’s or an iPad Pro.
  2. Head to the iPad's Settings and scroll down to the POS app.

 

  1. Toggle the option Repair on next launch to on.
  2. Still in Settings, scroll up to the Safari icon and tap on this.
     


     
  3. On the right hand side of the screen scroll to the blue text Clear history and website data tap on this and confirm to clear data.
     
  4. Open the Lightspeed app again and log into the back office.  Tap on the POS icon to relaunch the POS.
  5. Select the appropriate register from the register selection screen.

 


 

 

Android Devices

 

  1. With the Lightspeed app open, tap the screen with 3 fingers and swipe down
  2. Select Repair
     
    For Android:
     


     
  3. Open the Lightspeed app again and log into the back office.  Tap on the POS icon to relaunch the POS.
  4. Select the appropriate register from the register selection screen.
